Assmann Produces Superior Quality Polyethylene Treatment Liners for Wastewater Treatment Tanks Manufacturer, Bio-Microbics, Inc.

Assmann, the makers of plastic storage tanks, produced this polyethylene liner for a wastewater treatment tank manufacturer.Bio-Microbics, Inc., Shawnee, Kansas, an affiliate of Smith & Loveless, Inc., a worldwide leader in water and wastewater equipment since 1946, manufactures a unique line of Fixed Activated Sludge Treatment (FAST®) systems. The pre-engineered, modular systems are designed to treat wastewater in municipal, industrial, marine, commercial, and residential applications.

Bio-Microbics’ FAST® wastewater treatment tanks systems combine a superior treatment technology with top-quality design and construction materials. The internal treatment components of each FAST® system are housed inside a durable, plastic liner. This polyethylene treatment liner and its components are then installed in a larger tank, typically concrete, to make up a complete FAST® wastewater treatment basins system.

Assmann Exceeded Quality Expectations on Wastewater Treatment Tanks

Bio-Microbics’ specifications for the plastic liners are stringent. Commenting on the company’s requirements for the tanks, Brody Dorland, Bio-Microbics Sales and Marketing Coordinator said, “We have very high standards. Each tank must have flawless quality and it must be molded to specific precise dimensions.”

Bio-Microbics’ previous tank provider began delivering product that did not meet the company’s high standards. The company was also not delivering product on time.

Bio-Microbics received polyethylene liners from Assmann for their wastewater treatment basin systems.

Dorland said, “We needed another supplier. We were unhappy with the quality and the delivery timeframes. The plastic liners we use for our treatment systems have to be durable and flawless.”

Bio-Microbics learned about Assmann Corporation, an Indiana-based manufacturer of polyethylene storage tanks and containers, through one of their sales representatives. Bio-Microbics decided to try Assmann. Assmann quickly solved Bio-Microbics’ problems by producing a superior, flawless liner that meets Bio-Microbics’ specific dimensions and delivering the liners on-time when Bio-Microbics needs them.

To produce the high-quality product Bio-Microbics demands, Assmann follows their own set of high standards and takes no shortcuts during the molding process. For example, Assmann never uses higher temperatures, which speed up cycle time and cut costs, but compromise the end product. They allow their product to cool completely by air and never introduce water into the cooling process. Water can accelerate cool down, but it sets up stresses that will shorten the service life of the tank.

Assmann Manufactures Up to 120 Wastewater Treatment Basins Annually

Today, Assmann manufactures 80 to 120 exterior treatment liners annually for Bio-Microbics. Today, Assmann manufactures 80 to 120 exterior treatment liners annually for Bio-Microbics. These liners are used in all of their 4.5 and 9.0 model sizes of the MicroFast® Wastewater Treatment Systems, HighStrengthFAST®, NitriFAST®, LagoonFAST® wastewater treatment systems and their BioSTORM™ storm water treatment systems.

Dorland says that the cost to work with Assmann is somewhat higher, but the extra is worth it. “We get a better quality product and on-time delivery.”

Dorland also likes the easy access he has to Assmann personnel. “If we have questions, they are there. They are very easy to work with and they are always friendly and professional.”

“We appreciate the extra effort they take to produce our liners and the extra effort they take with customer service.”
